The Research Committee promotes and supports hand therapy research in Australia by investing in evidence-based research to demonstrate the value and measure the impact of hand therapy.

The AHTA supports the advancement of research in hand therapy through two grants:
- The research project funding, a maximum of $50,000.00
- The kick-starters or seed funding, a maximum of $10,000.00
