5 August 2020, 11.59 pm VICTORIA - STAGE 4 UPDATE

5 August 2020, 11.59 pm

Updated DHHS advice came through at midnight last night. All public and private health services are permitted:

'All AHPRA registered health workers - and in addition, social work, speech pathology, dietetics and any other health worker required to fulfil a care plan endorsed by NDIS, TAC, Workcover or DVA - to provide services that prevent a significant change/deterioration in functional independence necessitating escalation of care (e.g. a requirement for specialist input/review, an increase in care needs and/or alternate accommodation, avoiding a hospital
admission or emergency department presentation).'

On the issue of multiple work sites DHHS advises: 'For an employer with multiple worksites, they may decide to designate an authorised person at each work site. Employers should minimise any requirement for employees to work at different sites. An employee working at more than one site must keep a log of the places visited including date, time and place of attendance.'

The AHTA is grateful to the AHPA and all Allied Health Associations who have advocated long and hard for this change since Stage 4 details were announced earlier in the week. DHHS has heard us. We're proud of the result for our Vic members.
