All about the shoulder and the interplay between the distal and proximal upper limb | QLD Webinar
The AHTA invites you to attend the All about the shoulder and the interplay between the distal and proximal upper limb webinar presented by Dr Kieran Hirpara, hosted by the QLD Division. This meeting is being held online only.
Dr Kieran Hirpara attained his medical degree from The National University of Ireland, Galway in 2002. Dr Hirpara moved to Rockhampton in 2016, and commenced his public appointment as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at Rockhampton Base Hospital, providing specialist hand and upper limb care to a catchment area that extends to Stanage, Longreach and Agnes Water. In 2019 Dr Hirpara was awarded FRACS, and in 2020 he established the CQ Hand & Upper Limb clinic as a multidisciplinary centre for hand and upper limb conditions, partnered with Extend Rehabilitation and Entirely Health. He exclusively treats the hand and upper limb, with an approximately 45/45/10 split between hand, shoulder and elbow respectively.
We are fortunate to learn from Dr Hirpara about all things shoulder! You can expect to walk away from this session with an improved understanding of:
- Anatomy and assessment of the shoulder
- Common shoulder conditions including rotator cuff pathology and adhesive capsulitis, as well as the interplay between the distal and proximal upper limb with potential implications at the shoulder level when treating a more distal injury.
- Focus areas for the early stages of managing the above conditions.
- The avenues that are explored when conservative management proves to be insufficient.
We hope you can join us for this practical and insightful presentation.
