The AHTA invites you to attend the VIC State Interest Group Meeting, presented by Mr Simon Lau and Dr Lipi Shukla, hosted by the VIC Division. In-person attendance only. Please note places are limited.

  • Distal radius and ulna fracture assessment and the decision-making process for progressing to reduction or surgery, Mr Simon Lau. 
  • Advances in nerve compression, diagnosis and treatment of uncommon and recurrent nerve entrapments, including head and upper limb, Dr Lipi Shukla

Mr. Simon Lau is a Melbourne born and trained Orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in surgery to the upper limb – shoulders, elbows and wrists. He has both national and international subspeciality training in the most advanced techniques for arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery, as well as a strong academic record for a variety of topics related to upper limb and traumatic injuries.

Dr. Lipi Shukla holds both general and specialist registration in plastic surgery. She has undertaken training both locally and internationally from leading experts in the field of peripheral nerve surgery.

Lipi has developed a sub-specialty in diagnosing and treating neuralgia-associated headache disorders for patients suffering from headaches and migraines resulting from nerve compression.

This session will provide an in-depth overview of the clinical and radiographic assessment of distal radius and ulna fractures, focusing on key indicators for determining stability, displacement, and potential complications.

Dr. Lipi Shukla will explore the discuss the latest understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of nerve compression syndromes, with a particular focus on uncommon and recurrent entrapments affecting the head and upper limb.
