The AHTA invites you to attend the Dupuytren's Disease meeting presented by Mr Alex Cameron, hosted by the VIC Division. This meeting is being held online only.

This presentation will provide an overview of Dupuytren’s disease, including disease staging and progression highlighting the challenges surgeons face with a distinct lack of treatment options for early-stage disease. The presentation will discuss the conjecture around a lack of evidence-based treatment options and some key insights into effective treatment for the disease in the modern day.

Mr Alex Cameron

Mr Alex Cameron undertook his basic surgical training in Adelaide before being accepted into advanced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has completed training in all facets of Plastic Surgery but has maintained an interest in hand surgery. As part of his training, Mr Cameron completed a PhD on investigating a novel treatment for hypertrophic scarring.

Mr Cameron has recently relocated back to Adelaide and taken up appointments at Flinders Medical Centre and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He also works alongside Mr Rodney Cooter at Waverly House.

Mr Cameron is a strong advocate for the role of hand therapy in providing excellent care to his patients and routinely collaborates within both his public and private clinics alongside his hand therapy colleagues.
