
WA State Interest Group Meeting - March 2025 | WA Webinar
The AHTA invites you to attend the WA State Division Group meeting, being hosted by the WA Division. This registration page is for online attendance.
We are pleased to announce that the first meeting of 2025 will take place on Saturday, 29 March, starting at 9:00 AM.
The presenters for this meeting are:
- Dr Helen Douglas, presenting on “Lasers for scars: hands and beyond’
- James Weir, presenting on “Management of complex pain in the upper limb”
- Jason Ryan, presenting on "Beyond the hand: Optimising shoulder function in elbow & hand patients
Dr Helen Douglas
Dr Helen Douglas is a fully qualified Specialist Plastic Surgeon working in Perth, Western Australia and specialising in burns, scarring and laser treatments. Dr Douglas works in public and private practice; she is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in both the adult (Fiona Stanley Hospital) and children’s (Perth Children’s Hospital) burn units and has extensive experience in reconstructive surgery and laser treatment of scars.
James Weir
James is a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a broad mix of skills and experience. He has worked extensively in private practice, dealing with acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems as well as a wide range of sporting injuries. James has completed his master’s degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and has been a treating clinician for a national study into the management of people with chronic low back pain. James is currently completing his PhD in work-related pain. He also works in a multidisciplinary role within a pain medicine clinic.
Jason Ryan
Jason is the Perth Heat baseball physio coordinator.
As always, we encourage our rural colleagues to join us via Zoom, as well as anyone unable to attend in person. When registering, please ensure you select either online or in-person attendance.
