Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 2 Hand Therapy practitioners – Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join the Hand Therapy team.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals, and Kilmore District Hospital.

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join the hand therapy team at Northern Health. This role is responsible for the provision of expert assessment and treatment to clients referred to hand therapy following injury or surgery. This position is ongoing full time with a monthly Accrued Day Off. Job share or part-time may be considered.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience and good working knowledge of the role of Hand Therapy in the acute hospital environment (or similar).
  • Specialist postgraduate training and/or experience in Plastics/Hand Therapy, with 2 years of relevant clinical practice including management of acute hand trauma.
  • Well informed of current developments in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and Hand Therapy.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and part of a team.
  • Committed to life-long learning and development.
