Course cancellation policy

The Course Cancellation Policy is your point of reference should unforeseen circumstances prohibit you from attending a course you have registered to attend, or in the unlikely event that the AHTA needs to postpone or move a course.

Please review the policy or the information below prior to registering for a course. If you have any questions, please contact us.

If you need to cancel

We understand that on occasions participants may need to cancel their place on a course. We require:

  1. You to inform the AHTA in writing of your need to cancel your place a minimum of 10 working days prior to the course.

  2. Upon written notification of participant cancellation, the office will refund the course fees less 30% plus the cost of any supplied material (electronic material will not incur a charge).

  3. Cancellation within 10 working days of the course will not be eligible for a refund.

COVID-19

In the event, a fully paid participant shows proof of a positive covid test or is listed as a close contact requiring isolation, which prevents their participation the course fee will be kept in credit for 12 months.

Illness

In the event, that a fully paid participant shows proof of illness (medical certificate), which prevents their participation the course fee will be kept in credit for 12 months.

Substitutes

A substitute delegate is welcome. Contact the office with details of the substitution. If the substitute is not an AHTA member, the non-member fee will apply and the extra payment is due.

If we need to cancel

The cancellation of a course is a matter taken very seriously and is avoided where possible. If the AHTA cancels a course (for example, course running costs not covered due to small participant numbers) the following is applicable:

  1. Course registration fees will be refunded in full to each registered participant.

  2. Registered participants have the option to transfer their registration to another course.

  3. All registered participants will be notified either by email or phone.

  4. The AHTA is not liable for any costs associated with airfares or accommodation.

  5. The AHTA recommends that participants consider travel insurance and booking flexible flights and accommodation.
