Consultation Surveys

AHPA has been invited by the Minister for Health to nominate candidates for vacancies on the Council and Principal Committees of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) for the 2021 to 2024 triennium. 

This is the first time AHPA has been asked to nominate candidates on behalf of allied health. Nominees should have demonstrated knowledge and experience of health and medical research in Australia, and be recognised as a leader in their field.

More information is available in the letter from Minister Hunt in AHPAonline and the NHMRC website. Members are asked to submit any recommendations for candidates to be nominated by AHPA for consideration. Nominations close 31 January 2021.
SURVEY  National COVID-19 Guidelines

Healthcare professionals are invited to complete a survey about the National COVID-19 Guidelines. Feedback will help improve guidance from the National COVID-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce on clinical care of COVID-19 patients.

CONSULTATION  National Digital Mental Health Framework

The Department of Health has engaged PwC to scope and develop a National Digital Mental Health Framework. The consultation paper on the Framework, a report on the current state of the digital mental health services in Australia, and the link to the online consultation survey are all available from the PwC website

The online consultation closes 11 December 2020. Alternatively, consultation workshops are currently running from 30 Nov to 9 Dec 2020: workshop registration and timetable.
CONSULTATION  National Safety and Quality Primary Healthcare Standards 

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) has extended the consultation on the draft Primary Healthcare Standards. Consultation on the draft Standards was scheduled to close in November, but has been extended until 29 January 2021. The consultation document is available from the ACSQHC website

CONSULTATION  DVA Treatment Cycle Initiative

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) treatment cycle initiative being evaluated by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Feedback is sought from stakeholder organisations and individual healthcare providers as well as DVA clients. Links to the stakeholder and practitioner surveys are available from the QUT TCI evaluation website

The survey close date has been extended until 28 February 2021.

CONSULTATION – Inquiry into the NDIS Market (QLD)

The Queensland Productivity Commission has released today its draft report into the NDIS market in Queensland. The report finds targeted reforms are needed for the NDIS to reach its full potential and sets out 39 draft recommendations. The draft report is now open for feedback. The consultation document is available from the Queensland Productivity Commission website and submissions are due by 4 February 2021.

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has released three consultation papers about changes to how people access the NDIS, planning policy for budgets and plan flexibility, and early intervention services. The last paper is supported by a consultation report around best-practice Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) reform.
